The Regal Foundation was organized in 2003 for the purpose of engaging in charitable, scientific, and educational activities, both directly and by providing funds to support and enhance other organizations benefiting persons suffering economic, social, physical, or educational hardship or disadvantage, or who are otherwise in need of charitable, scientific, or educational support or assistance, so long as such organizations are (i) organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, or educational activities and (ii) qualify as organizations exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, (the “Code”) and are described in Section 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the Code.
The Regal Foundation supports both local charities based in the communities our theatres serve and national projects which have a multiplier effect by benefiting local groups across the country. We do not donate funds outside of the areas in which we live and operate so all funds go back into our communities.
The Regal Foundation’s major in-theatre fundraising campaign is themed “Stars of Hope, Shine for a Brighter Tomorrow.” During this summer campaign, patrons may donate $1 and join the other Stars who contribute to the Regal Foundation, supporting national and local organizations. The names of donors are written on Stars and attractively displayed on a “Wall of Fame” at our theatres.
